Our history dates back to December 1959 when Imperial Metals & Power Ltd. was incorporated in British Columbia. Over the past five decades, we have undergone a number of transitions to become the Company we are today. The most pivotal was in 1995 when Imperial merged with Bethlehem Resources Corporation. This merger set the Company on a new path, bringing together our current team under the direction of Brian Kynoch. Our management team has worked together for over 20 years, and has been involved in construction and/or operation of seven mines, the majority in British Columbia. Since 1994, Murray Edwards has been the Company's largest shareholder and an important component of our growth and development.
Our expertise and focus is on base and precious metals. The majority of our operations and exploration projects are in British Columbia. Through our subsidiaries we own the Red Chris and Mount Polley copper/gold mines, and a 50% interest in the Huckleberry copper mine and the Ruddock Creed lead/zinc property. We also control a portfolio of exploration stage projects in British Columbia.

Red Chris, an Imperial Metals company, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Industrial Hygienist to complement our Health and Safety Team at the remote Red Chris mine in Northern British Columbia.
Located 80 kilometers south of Dease Lake in Tahltan traditional territory, the successful candidate will be required to work and stay in camp on a rotational basis.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for advising on and supporting the implementation of IH programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
The successful candidate will be a certificated Industrial Hygienist or Registered Occupational Hygienist, have a valid Level 3 First Aid Certificate, have a good understanding and knowledge of the BC Health, Safety and Reclamation Code (Mines Act) as it relates to Health and Safety, coupled with a minimum of 3 years experience in an Industrial Hygiene role.

In addition, our ideal candidate will possess or be willing to obtain a current BC Surface Mine Rescue Certification along with a Certification in Health, Safety at the Diploma, certificate or construction safety officer level and have demonstrable experience in conducting incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis.

Red Chris is a remote mining camp where our employees live during their days of work. Transportation to and from site is provided from designated marshaling points around British Columbia. All meals and accommodation (including satellite TV, wifi) are also provided to all employees while in camp.
