Oxworks is an Australian organisation that manufactures and supplies factory direct fencing, gates, screens, and balustrades. They specialise in the manufacture of glass, aluminium & steel products for home improvement and major project works. Oxworks stock a range of products and fencing supplies from DIY to Commercial projects.

About the Role

Oxworks now has a full-time opportunity for a HR/Payroll Officer to join their team in the Crestmead Head Office.

This is a highly busy and autonomous role that will see you responsible for the overall human resource functions of the business, including performance management, recruitment and on-boarding of staff.

You will also assist with industrial relations and workplace health and safety matters and manage the weekly payroll function for approximately 170 staff, including the processing of super, tax, annual leave and time sheets.

More specifically, some of your day to day duties will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process including placing advertisements, organising interviews and processing letters of offers and contracts;
  • Assisting with the coordination of employee training and maintaining the companywide training schedule;
  • Managing the timekeeping system and high-volume processing of time sheets;
  • Interpreting awards; and
  • General reporting as required, including EOM reporting.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have at least 3-5 years working in a HR capacity, with demonstrated experience dealing with employment contracts, performance management and recruitment. You will have a sound understanding of fair work legislation, and employment practices and take a professional, confidential approach to all HR matters.

In addition, you will have experience running a company payroll, including the creation of BASS statements, ideally within Xero Accounting Software. You will also have experience using an ERP system.

Oxworks is looking for someone with a 'no nonsense' attitude who can execute quickly and identify areas for process improvements to improve efficiency. You will be well-organised, have an impartial approach to staff management and be a strong communicator to ensure policies and processes are maintained across a national workforce.
