About the Opportunity 

Methanex currently has an exciting career opportunity for an Administrative Assistant, Responsible Care to join our team in Medicine Hat on a full-time basis. 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to all personnel in the department by managing numerous competing priorities with superior business acumen and advanced communication, computer, planning, and organizational skills.

The role is also responsible for various Responsible Care processes including a training matrix and database, behavioural based safety data entry, monthly key performance indicators, and quarterly reporting.

Your key accountabilities will include, but are no limited to:

  • Generating reports, preparing graphs and distributing weekly, monthly and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Entering and tracking work orders
  • Collecting and entering behavioral based safety data
  • Coordinating aspects of training activities by arranging the printing of workbooks and associated materials, catering, securing facilities and ensuring all is to the facilitator’s expectations
  • Adhering to all Methanex health, safety and environmental policies
  • Gathering departmental timesheets for use in overtime, training and leave tracking
  • Organizing and tracking training and business travel for the Responsible Care department
  • Scheduling safety inspections, housekeeping audits and site orientations
  • Administering the Management of Controlled Documents process related to quality, health, safety, security, emergency response, process safety and environment

Our successful candidate will possess:

  • Post-secondary diploma in administrative office management or a related technical discipline preferred, supplemented by a minimum of three years of previous administrative experience
  • Previous experience maintaining documents in an industrial environment an asset
  • Formal training and/or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point, as well as web-based applications
  • Two to three years’ with previous administrative experience in a similar field are an asset

Other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered based on significant related experience in a relevant industrial setting.
