About the role

Knauf now has a full-time opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to join their team in Matraville, NSW.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to join an established organisation in a key leadership position!

In this role, your main responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day operation of each shift in the Production Department of the manufacturing facility, ensuring budgeted capacity is met or exceeded.

You will also be responsible for managing allocated shift resources to meet the specified production program whilst maintaining all statutory requirements, and meeting the specified efficiency, safety, and quality criteria.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Managing the daily operation of the plant as required to meet scheduled requirements via the operators;
  • Managing Shop Floor Control (SFC), SFC-QP (quality version), and SAP;
  • Logging accidents/injury details, quality non-conformance, CTE issues and other required records;
  • Optimisation of processes and equipment, including energy and raw materials consumption;
  • Timely troubleshooting and correction of plant and product faults with the assistance of the Plant Manager, Production Manager, Engineering Manager and Maintenance Supervisor as required; and
  • Preparation and updating of Performance Plans as instructed by the Plant or Production Managers.

Who is Knauf looking for?

To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment and hold a degree in Science, Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical), or equivalent.

It is key that you have previously managed a small to mid-sized team and/or have project management experience. As such, effective leadership skills will be key.

This role will be ideal for an individual who has some quality post graduate experience and are looking to take their career to the next level.

Your ability to confidently motivate, assist, and direct team members in an assertive yet approachable manner will be pivotal to your success in this role.

Candidates will need to display high levels of attention to detail, accuracy, and initiative. You will be driven to meet high-efficiency targets whilst maintaining a safe working environment. 

In addition, your ability to ensure work is being completed to a consistent standard will be key to your success in this role. 

While not essential, candidates with experience in paper manufacturing or continuous manufacturing will be highly regarded.
