About the Opportunity

Currently, High Prairie School Division No. 48, on behalf of Northern Lakes Collaborative Services, is seeking full-time Behaviour Management Consultants to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to serve students in various schools in the High Prairie and Slave Lake Alberta, area. 

Please note this role will commence August 28, 2018 and involves some travel. 

In these roles, you will provide support to school-aged students in various schools who present with mental health and/or behavioural needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Consulting with teachers and parents regarding the implementation of appropriate strategies goals and objectives for supporting students
  • Assessing and diagnosing students
  • Crisis intervention, group counseling, and facilitating referrals to outside agencies

In order to qualify for this role, you will have post-secondary education in a Human Services or a related field.

You will also possess:

  • Demonstrated counselling skills
  • An interest in and experience working with a school-aged population
  • Consulting skills
  • Competency in the development and implementation of programs designed to facilitate student growth
  • Experience working with First Nations (asset only)
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • The ability to provide a current original Police Information Check
