About the role

Knauf now has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join their team in Beenleigh, QLD.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the Knauf Metal Beenleigh manufacturing facility during the evening shift and ensuring it operates with efficiency, productivity, staff supervision, and allocation. 

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Supporting the Production Supervisor with the performance management of all afternoon shift employees;
  • Conducting risk assessments of processes and products failures and issues;
  • Manufacturing wastage of steel and resources to be kept to a minimum and meeting agreed targets;
  • Assisting with the line setting of machines and presses;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of machines;
  • Daily shift change over at toolbox meetings; and
  • Ensuring the site is securely secured at the completion of every afternoon shift.

Who is Knauf looking for?

To be successful in this role, you must hold a trade qualification and have significant experience as a Fitter and Turner or equivalent (preferably from a manufacturing background).

It is also crucial you have strong leadership and management skills. As you will be overseeing teams on shift, you will need the ability to confidently motivate, assist, and direct team members in an assertive yet approachable manner. Candidates who hold a certificate IV in Training and Assessment / Frontline management will be held in high regard. 

Candidates will need to display high levels of persistence, attention to detail, and motivation. You will also need to be proactive and organised with a strong safety focus. 

Your strong verbal and written communication skills (including a good knowledge - and previous experience with - Microsoft Office products) will be key to your success in the role.

In addition, you will be an approachable team leader who is flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented. 

While not essential, candidates with roll forming experience and understanding of SAP will be highly regarded.

Please note: Candidates must have the ability to work Monday - Thursday from 14:15 to 22:45 and Friday from 11:45 - 17:45. You will also be available to cover any additional shifts/shutdown as required.
