About your new role

MJB Seminars now has a once in a lifetime opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join their team, based in Perth, and lead the organisation into the next exciting chapter of its existence.

Reporting to the Director and Main Speaker, the General Manager is the strategic and operational leader of the business, overseeing and directing all day-to-day activities of the organisation, whilst ensuring strategic planning that ensures continued profit and growth. 

Your scope of responsibility will include (but not be limited to): 

  • Managing and leading service delivery, finance and accounts, human resources and marketing at all MJB Seminar sites;
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all staff on operational matters, including technical issues;
  • Acting as a key contributor in the development and implementation of MJB Seminars strategic plan, business plans, policies and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement;
  • Building out new systems, platforms and procedures to better automate the business and then coordinating roll-out of these to the business;
  • Conducting business development activities that ensure that KPIs are hit and the business is well placed to continue on its growth trajectory;
  • Setting and managing budgets and working with the finance team to conduct cash flow analysis and reporting as required.

About You

To be considered for this position you will be a ground-breaking leader with previous experience in a similar role at an executive level and the demonstrated ability to move an organisation through a period of change.

You will be creative, strategic, and have the commercial acumen, coupled with strong business intellect necessary for taking the business to the next level.

You will also need to be extremely tech savvy, with the ability to pick up and quickly understand new software and platforms and then communicate this knowledge to the wider business. An understanding of marketing activities will be a plus, as you will be working with the Marketing Manager and broader marketing team to help build and drive out marketing initiatives. 

Importantly, you will be an approachable and honest communicator, with strong project management skills and the ability to confidently manage a national and international team of likeminded (and somewhat quirky!) teammates.
