About the Organisation

Multicultural Care (MC) is a not‐for‐profit, secular, community organization specializing in home and community‐based support services for frail‐aged people, people with disability, and their carers, from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds across Sydney's inner west, south west and south east. 

All services are aimed at assisting people to remain living at home as independently as possible, whilst providing them with the choice and flexibility in the way that care and support is provided. 

About the Opportunity

Multicultural Care now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Coordinator - Disability Programs to join their dedicated team in Campsie in Sydney's south western suburbs.

Reporting to the Client Services Manager, you will be responsible for developing Multicultural Care’s disability programs, including coordinating growing NDIS supports, and establishing NDIS day care centres and other relevant disability programs.  

The Coordinator plays a key role in the day to day provision of direct customer care in disability services programs, which aim to promote the dignity of Multicultural Care's customers and support them to develop their potential. 

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Managing referrals and liaising with NDIS participants;
  • Coordinating the delivery of NDIS supports with the assistance of the Roster Coordinator;
  • Ensuring participants are receiving support to their individual needs;
  • Ensuring that projects are established in line with funding body requirements and project plans; 
  • Monitoring and evaluating the delivery of support, services and participant outcomes using an evidence-based approach; and
  • Providing support to the team (Bilingual support staff and volunteers) by identifying training and development needs and activities.

About You

To be considered for this position you will hold a minimum of a Diploma qualification in Aged Care, Disability, Community Care (or equivalent), with demonstrated experience in a similar role coordinating programs or services within the disability sector. 

You will have an understanding of the NDIS (including how to use the NDIS portal), and how this translates into service provision for individuals, as well as a genuine commitment to providing high quality, person-centred disability support.

This is a supervisory role that will see you overseeing a team of approximately 15 people from a range of different cultures and backgrounds. As such, you will need great communication and time management skills, both in how you engage with your team and with external NDIS partners and stakeholders. 

Finally, you will need to hold a current Driver's License, with access to a reliable vehicle and Multicultural Care is also wanting candidates who are bilingual or multilingual, to better support and understand the needs of both your team and your client base. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Police Check, First Aid Certification and obtain a Working with Children check, prior to commencement.
