About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth and strategic direction, Knauf Australia is now looking for a full-time Credit Controller to join their team in Matraville, Sydney, NSW.

Reporting to the National Credit Manager, this pivotal role will see you managing the Debtors ledger via timely collections, and performing accurate recording and reporting of credit records. As credit is a critical part of the sales process, you will work collaboratively with the Sales Team to optimise sales while minimising risk.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Carrying out collection processes to meet targets and improve DSOs;
  • Undertaking administration of the Trade Debtors Insurance Policy Process;
  • Performing credit Assessment and reviews, and providing recommendations on new and existing customer risk;
  • Reconciling customer accounts and allocating customer receipts;
  • Partnering with Sales to understand customer, business and markets as an enabler of credit, balancing risk in order to minimise bad debt;
  • Ensuring credit records are maintained to meet audit requirements and standards;
  • Maintaining bad debt provision and writing off protocol in conjunction with the National Credit Manager;
  • Regularly and effectively monitoring trade and industry alerts; and
  • Carrying out weekly and monthly reporting tasks as required.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience as a Credit Controller within the Building / Construction industry or a trade credit field (i.e. mining, manufacturing, trades or freight forwarding).

Knauf Australia is looking for a candidate with experience in a large integrated receivables system (preferably SAP). A good understanding of accounting concepts, along with a background working with Credit reporting databases (i.e. Equifax or Dun & Bradstreet) will also be required.

It is critical you be confident in your knowledge, with the ability to think things through and problem solve. Your experience in Credit will allow you to make educated decisions and recommendations (within guidelines) based on the issue at hand in order to eliminate any barriers to servicing our external customer. This will align to our core value of Knauf being the best supplier to our customer. You'll be able to work both as part of a team and autonomously in an effective and efficient manner, to ensure the credit process runs seamlessly day to day.

In addition, you'll be a competent communicator with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders. Although not essential, AICM qualifications (or working toward these qualifications) would be highly regarded. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are required.

Importantly, Knauf is looking for candidates who demonstrate common sense and a passion for credit and a desire to grow their career in this business area.

The Perks

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation during an exciting growth period. In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration (negotiable upon skills and experience) plus super!

Upon joining the Knauf, you'll be welcomed into a friendly and relaxed team who are dedicated to achieving the best outcomes day in, day out.
