About the Opportunity

Hyden Engineering's operations are growing, and they are now looking for an experienced and diligent Warehouse Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis in Rutherford, NSW.

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will report to the Purchasing Officer/Inventory Controller and will be directly involved in all stores/warehouse work and be responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Hyden warehouse, and ensuring that all tasks are completed as per procedures and in accordance with KPI's.

More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Ensuring that all Receiving, Picking, Packing, Dispatching and Freight Booking is completed in accordance with KPI's;
  • Organising, scheduling and supervising all tasks within the warehouse, including communication of any changes to deadlines;
  • Taking ownership of any process/material delays and finding solutions;
  • Ensuring any stock or WIP discrepancies are investigated and corrective actions completed or reported to the Purchasing Officer/Inventory Controller if unresolved; and,
  • Maintaining all work areas, the warehouse/store and JTF in accordance with Hyden policy.

About You

To be considered for this position you must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in warehouse/stores works within any mechanical industry, with previous team leadership of two staff or more highly desirable.

You must have an above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows itself, including printers/print queues, network connections, windows profiles and online systems such as TNT Online/Toll Online.

As this is a supervisory role in charge of the day to day operations of the warehouse with 1-2 direct reports, the ideal candidate will be a diligent, proactive and organised leader with excellent communication and negotiation skills that can organise and schedule all workflows in a hands-on capacity. 

You must be able to independently take ownership of problems, collect data, establish the facts, draw valid conclusions and communicate effective solutions to multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.

As Hyden Engineering places a strong emphasis on self, role and business improvement, not only will you be able to comprehend and follow documented procedures and manuals, you are expected to make suggestions for improvement where necessary. 

While standard hours are 7:30 - 4:00, you may be required to undertake some overtime (on penalty rates) as required, dependent on operational needs.

Please note, a current Australian driver's licence and NSW forklift ticket are requirements for this role. Also, any form of higher education in inventory control, warehousing or logistics will be looked upon favourably.
