About the Opportunity

Civifleet is a growing business hiring trucks and earthmoving equipment to the civil construction industry. 

Civifleet Diesel - the maintenance arm of Civifleet - now has an opportunity for a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join their workshop team based at Melton, in Melbourne's western suburbs. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role with optional Saturday work available depending on volumes.

The large, modern workshop provides maintenance, repair and fabrication services to the internal fleet, as well as maintenance and repair work for external clients. 

The workshop team maintains over 20 items of heavy mobile plant, including 13 company trucks and earthmoving equipment, with brands including Hino, Iveco, Sterling and Mercedes. Fabrication services are also provided on-site including the building of tipper bodies and steel bins for trucks. 

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • Trade qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Proven experience providing repair and maintenance services on heavy vehicle and/or earthmoving equipment

Any experience/qualifications as per the below will be highly regarded, but is not mandatory and Civifleet Diesel will provide training for the right person to achieve these qualifications:

  • Fabrication/welding experience;
  • A good working knowledge of European/Japanese trucks;
  • HC license or above; and
  • A current Forklift license.

Importantly, you will have a good work ethic, be self-driven and be comfortable working autonomously with little supervision as required. 

Remuneration is an attractive hourly rate circa $30-$45 p/h dependant on experience, with plenty of overtime available.
