About the Opportunity

Pacific Petroleum now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced full-time Sales Manager to now join their team at Head Office in Rocklea, QLD.

Reporting to the General Manager, and taking charge of a team of 16, you will primarily be responsible for the creation and implementation of effective direct sales strategies and management of business components to lead the very experienced and highly motivated sales team to successfully achieve sales objectives.

More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Further developing competencies and processes required to sustain an effective and efficient sales organisation;
  • Demonstrating leadership, accountability and ownership of the company's vision, the sales strategies and team outcomes;
  • Supporting the sales team through motivational analysis, team building, and open and honest communication;
  • Providing sales management, budget control, compensation and incentive planning;
  • Assisting the sales team in closing key accounts through joint sales negotiations and customer visits; and
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships and collaborations with other departments in order to address key business drivers and achieve the company goals.

About You

In order to be successful in this role, you must be an experienced and mature sales professional, with a minimum of 5 years experience in managing a direct sales team. 

You will leverage your extensive sales management experience, business acumen and interpersonal skills to recruit, upskill, lead, support, manage and retain a high-performance sales team.

You will need to be able to take the highly experienced and successful sales team to the next level of growth and profitability, via strong negotiation skills and the ability to analyse and capture new opportunities.

You will possess an analytical mindset alongside a proactive management philosophy that will enable you to strategise, forecast, plan and deliver on KPI's and P&L objectives while improving existing sales processes.

You must have a holistic understanding of the sales process in regards to wider business operations and the importance of interdepartmental synergy in achieving business goals.

This is a high energy autonomous role requiring you to liaise with a wide range of Pacific Petroleum clients and build positive working relationships both internally and externally - the ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach very experienced team members to deliver on challenging sales goals.

Intermediate business computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite are required.

Please note: Pacific Petroleum has over 50 locations around Australia, with a semi-dispersed sales team. Occasional day travel to meet clients/staff and visit depots will be expected, while overnight travel will be rare. A company vehicle will be provided for your use, both business and personal. A current, unrestricted Australian Driver's licence is a mandatory requirement for this position.
