About the Opportunity
Established in 1972 and managed by Nerada Services, Wadda Plantation is a family owned business that focuses on the production and harvesting of bananas.
Wadda now has an opportunity for an enthusiastic Diesel Mechanic to join their team based in tropical Nerada, QLD on a full-time basis.
This role will see you carrying out the following duties:
- Performing repairs or maintenance to a wide range of machinery which may include (but is not limited to) tractors, trucks, dozers, excavators and cherry pickers;
- Maintaining and repairing packing and processing shed machinery such as conveyor belts;
- Diagnosing both electrical and hydraulic faults;
- Replacing motors or pumps as required; and
- Ensuring you adhere to all work health and safety policies at all times.
This role will be working primarily out of the workshop but you will also be required to perform some repairs or maintenance work on the farm as required.
About You
The successful candidate will be a trade qualified Diesel Mechanic or similar mechanical discipline. You will also have extensive experience working as a Diesel Mechanic.
Although not essential, candidates who have Agricultural/Farming and/or demonstrated knowledge of and experience with hydraulics would be highly regarded.
As you will be working on a range of equipment, you will need to remain versatile and able to adapt your skills to the job at hand. Additionally, you will be motivated, competent and exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
For your hard work and dedication, you will receive an attractive hourly rate of $28-$30 p/h (commensurate with skills and experience) plus super.
