Your New Role

Ecora currently has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer in Training and a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in either Kelowna or Penticton, BC. 

Structural Engineer-In-Training

In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design of residential and small to medium size multi-family & commercial structures.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Designing and collaborating for drawing deliverables and performing construction field reviews
  • Working as part of a team under the direct supervision of a project manager
  • Preparing engineering calculations and designs
  • Discussing project concerns and solutions with clients and inter-company personnel

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a degree from a recognized post-secondary engineering (or applied sciences) institution in Canada combined with 2 to 4 years of relevant design experience including light-wood, concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures in residential and commercial buildings. Our ideal candidate will also possess the ability to manage the design and field reviews of multiple projects.

Senior Structural Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design of residential and small to medium size multi-family & commercial structures. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Supervision of drafters and designers and field reviews
  • Work as part of a team either as a project manager or under the direct supervision of a project manager
  • Prepare engineering calculations and designs
  • Discussing project concerns and solutions with clients and inter-company personnel
  • Managing and communicating with clients, architects and developers 

In order to qualify for this role, you will possess a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia, or eligible to register as a P.Eng. in B.C combined with 8-10 years of relevant design experience including wood, concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures in residential and commercial buildings. Our ideal candidate will also have the ability to manage multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision.

A lower number of years of experience may be accepted for candidates with specific experience with woodframe residential projects.

Please note, to qualify for this role you must possess a valid driver’s license.
