Boort District Health (BDH) is a small rural health unit that provides community emergency and a range of healthcare services. BDH features less than 50 beds, which allows their staff to deliver quality, flexible and responsive health services to their patients and residents. The organisation works on a vision of enrichment of health and wellbeing in the community and provides services which are individually tailored and very client focused. The staff are a highly ethical, hard-working team who are able to provide a range of specialised services including aged care, palliative care, physiotherapy, dental and podiatry.

About the Opportunity  

Boort District Health (BDH) is now looking to welcome multiple Registered Nurses to their healthcare facility in Boort, VIC, on either a full-time, part-time or casual basis.

Accountable to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) via the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), these roles will see you working across BDH’s sub-acute Medical, Urgent Care Centre, and Residential Aged Care units, working to ensure the delivery of quality person-centred care in an efficient clinical environment.

You will take on a varied workload during the day, depending on your shift, while at nights you may take on a supervisory role in charge of the facility, administering medication, responding to sub-acute and Urgent Care Centre patients, including telehealth conferences if there is no doctor on site. 

Your key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Assisting with the monitoring and analysis of patient / resident incidents and accidents;
  • Promoting self-management principles and prioritising the care of chronic disease clients/patients/residents;
  • Ensuring a comprehensive assessment is made of each admitted patient/client/resident, including identification of each person's physical and psychosocial needs;
  • Ensuring individual care plans are prepared for all residents/patients/clients in consultation with the person, their carers and other health professionals; and
  • Effectively communicating between the client/resident/patient, carers and other health professionals in a sensitive and professional manner.

About You

To be considered for this role you must hold a Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. 

You will have a dedication to clinical excellence based on the delivery of best practice person-centred care, using your well-developed interpersonal communication and empathetic skills to build strong supportive relationships with both patients/residents and staff.

Your highly organised nature and meticulous attention to detail will be crucial to your success in the role, as will your personable and approachable nature.
