About the Opportunity

Akron Group is a rapidly growing, innovative, market leading company in the government asset maintenance and infrastructure sector in the Northern Territory.

Akron Group now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Contracts Administrator to join their team in Darwin.

Reporting to the Division Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will be managing and coordinating tradespeople and sub-contractors and scheduling works.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Reviewing subcontractor and supplier pricing and ensuring the most competitive price is obtained;
  • Collating documentation for the project file;
  • Attending client meetings to assist with quoting;
  • Managing spending, including cost tracking and budget variances;
  • Tracking in-house stock and keeping to project budget;
  • Evaluating and compiling contract variations; and
  • Preparing daily and monthly reports.

This role will have a 50/50 split between working in the office and attending sites.

Do you have what it takes?

To be successful you will have a good understanding and general knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, carpentry, plumbing and landscaping, in addition to previous experience in a similar role.

While not essential tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.

You'll be working fairly autonomously day-to-day, so you'll need to be a driven individual with strong organisational skills and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop a career in project management in the future.
