About the Opportunity

Adventist Senior Living now has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Physiotherapist to join their friendly team based in Cooranbong, NSW, on a full-time two-year contract basis with renewal likely for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Physiotherapist Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high quality individualised physiotherapy care to residents, with the aim being to optimise the function and independence of each resident to perform the activities of daily living.

You will operate as part of a small team of dedicated allied health workers that work closely with the Multidisciplinary Clinical Team to provide quality resident care, and to promote staff wellbeing.  

More specifically, some of your key duties will include:

  • Undertaking comprehensive physiotherapy resident assessments, including the completion and evaluation of residents Manual Handling Instruction forms;
  • Developing and evaluating personalised Physiotherapist care plans for residents based on their individual needs and goals;
  • Liaising with the Physiotherapist Coordinator and/or Clinical Manager - Avondale Care regarding ACFI documentation;
  • Supervising, mentoring and supporting physio aide staff when appropriate; and
  • Undertaking workplace assessments for injured employees and monitoring Return to Work plans, as directed.

Suitable candidates will hold qualifications in Physiotherapy with eligibility to apply as a Registered Physiotherapist with AHPRA and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

Your ability to persuade and influence others will be crucial to your success, as will your patient and outgoing demeanour and commitment to providing a caring environment for residents.

Most importantly, Adventist Senior Living is looking for a warm and compassionate team player with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to relate to residents and staff at all levels, and the flexibility to adapt and respond to challenging situations, both autonomously and as part of a team.

While not mandatory, candidates with some experience working with older people who have chronic conditions and complex care needs living in a residential care environment will be highly regarded!
