About the Opportunity

Due to a recent expansion of operations, including large municipal commercial infrastructure projects, Wilmot is now seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer (Pipelaying & Plumbing) to join the Newcastle team on a full-time basis.

This role will provide the right candidate with the stepping stone to train and advance into a fully experienced Pipeline Technician position, with a great opportunity to learn and operate CCTV Crawler cameras and robotics cutters in no-dig pipe relining and rehabilitation.

Once up to speed, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Using Crawler CCTV cameras to examine pipelines in order to diagnose pipeline issues;
  • Creating proposals and communicating with clients to explain your diagnostic assessment and the solution;
  • Providing and enacting appropriate solutions with the team based on the assessment, including robotic cutting; and
  • Occasional residential work including servicing, pipe laying and plumbing.

Please note: Before commencing, you'll need to hold a current, unrestricted Manual Australian Driver's Licence and a General Construction Induction White Card from any State. While not mandatory, candidates with their Confined Space and Excavator Licences will be highly regarded - this training and certification will be provided for the right candidate. Some travel (one week in every eight) will be required.
