About the Opportunity

St Hedwig Village has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Recreational Activities Officer to join their multidisciplinary team, based in Blacktown NSW.   

As the newest member of the St Hedwig Village team, you will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering daily activity programs that will enhance residents’ quality of life and meet their social and recreational needs

This is a part-time role working the following hours:

  • Friday 7:45 am to 2:45 pm (including lunch break)
  • Saturday 7:45 am to 12:45 pm
  • Sunday 7:45 am to 12:45 pm

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with existing week-day commitments, or who is looking for weekend work without having to compromise their work/life balance. You'll enjoy your afternoons off, giving you plenty of time to spend as you please!

About You

St Hedwig Village is looking for a creative individual who can bring innovation to the development of new activities for residents. Your ability to show empathy with the elderly will allow you to develop rapport and better understand the individuals you will be working with, helping you to design suitable programs and activities.

The successful candidate will ideally hold a Certificate in Leisure and Lifestyle, a Certificate in Aged Care, or demonstrated experience in a similar role.

Importantly, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess exceptional organisational skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a small team and with minimal supervision. The ability to show initiative, complete tasks and demonstrate a good work ethic and attitude is essential.

Please Note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal History check and a physiotherapy assessment to ensure you can safely perform the duties required of this role.
