About the Opportunity
Summerland Credit Union is now seeking a full-time Relief Banking Specialist to join their team.
This varied position is responsible for contributing to the growth, operational and strategic goals for the various branches in which you'll be working, by supporting customers who apply for lending facilities either online or by phone.
Your ultimate goal will be to ensure seamless customer experience is delivered, regardless of the application channel chosen by the customer.
Some of your specific duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Identifying opportunities to provide solutions and meet customers' needs, and selling products either directly or by referral to frontline staff or third-party providers;
- Increasing loans, deposits and customer growth by creating an awareness of brand and products;
- Developing customer relationships and business opportunities within the different branch regions; and
- Providing quality customer service to customers and non-customers over the phone and through face to face interaction.
Please Note: As this is a relief position covering both planned and unplanned leave of other staff members, you will be required to regularly work across a number of Summerland branches along the coast (from Coolangatta down to Grafton). You will be based out of the Lismore branch on the days relief work is not required. You will need to possess a current Driver's License, along with your own vehicle to complete frequent day trips. A vehicle allowance is provided for this travel.

About You
As this is a key service and sales position, it is essential you possess extensive product knowledge, as well as needs-based selling and customer service skills. A background in banking / financial services will ensure you possess the required understanding of both personal and home loan lending. Although not essential, any experience with, or knowledge of, commercial lending will be highly regarded.
Due to the ever-changing nature of this role, Summerland Credit Union is looking for adaptable individuals who are comfortable working collaboratively in a number of different team environments. Excellent communication skills will be crucial, as will the ability to successfully negotiate.
You will be results oriented and understand how to expertly balance the line between promotion of all services and offerings, and the customers' specific lending needs.
Importantly, the successful candidate will be looking to build a successful career rather than approaching this opportunity with a short-term mindset.
