Illawarra Speech Pathology (ISP) is an independent, family owned and operated practice delivering comprehensive Speech Pathology services across the Illawarra region from three locations; Warilla, Bellambi and Campbelltown. ISP's approach to therapy is highly individualised and client-centred, focusing on the client's unique strengths to maximise their opportunity to communicate successfully and gain more independence in their everyday lives

With a commitment to providing excellent service to all clients, whether at the practice, at their school, or in the home, ISP is proud to be expanding their friendly supportive team in order to accommodate significant growth across all services and NDIS participants.

About the Opportunity

Due to this growth, ISP now has multiple opportunities for passionate and dedicated Speech Pathologists to join their team across the Illawarra region on a full-time or part-time basis. Candidates of all experience levels are welcome to apply, from recent graduates to well-established clinical professionals.

In these roles you will primarily be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of discipline-specific clinical services across the local area, including school and home visits.

You will provide diagnostic assessment and management of disorders of communication and swallowing through direct intervention, education, consultancy and advocacy or a combination of these approaches by:

  • Administering standardised and informal tests and observing clients to determine the nature and extent of their communication disorders or swallowing difficulties;
  • Providing treatment and management of speech, language, learning and communication disorders that may be developmental, part of a disability, or acquired as a result of injury or disease;
  • Advising on the positioning of the body and on the textures of food and fluids which assists an individual to eat and swallow safely without choking;
  • Assisting health and community groups to improve the health of individuals and the community by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, disease and disability, and other health-related issues; and
  • Building the ISP brand and reputation through positive representation and relationship building within the local community, including clients and their families.

About You

To be considered for this role you must be a tertiary qualified Speech Pathologist and hold current registration with Speech Pathology Australia (or be eligible to obtain).

You will be an independent and autonomous professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage your own caseload. While you will have the support of the team across the region, you must be comfortable operating and making clinical decisions on your own.

Your well-developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills will be crucial to your success in the role, as will your ability to build trust, rapport and strong relationships with your clients, their families and the community.

Please note: Before commencing employment you must hold a current Working With Children's Check, a current National Police Check, and ideally, though not mandatory, a current First Aid Certificate. Regular daytime travel is a requirement of the role - candidates must have a full, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence with reliable access to a registered, fully insured vehicle.

About the Benefits

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a highly attractive negotiable salary package, including super, circa $58,000 - $85,000, commensurate with your skills and experience.

All travel to attend client meetings will be reimbursed with a $0.78/km travel allowance on top of your salary. In addition, Relocation and Accommodation Assistance is on offer for the successful candidates, to be negotiated at interview stage, making this a great opportunity for applicants across Australia!

ISP is dedicated to providing ongoing career improvement for all staff, providing regular access to a mentor with over 25 years of Speech Pathology experience alongside an annual $1,000 allowance for professional development!
