About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia is now seeking a full-time Distribution Manager to join their team in Bundaberg, QLD. 

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the Distribution function. You'll also act as a member of the Site Management Team, playing a pivotal role in developing and achieving annual targets, plans and budgets.

Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Leading a team of up to 4 Distribution Operators and a Distribution Coordinator, with a focus on setting the team culture;
  • Working closely with the Planning, Production and Customer Service functions to ensure customer delivery expectations are met;
  • Developing best practice warehouse processes with the highest level of safety and efficiency in mind;
  • Collaborating with other functions to integrate all supply chain functions, with the goal of meeting DIFOTQ targets, minimising stock levels and maximising production efficiency;
  • Building on existing systems within the Australian business to further set up the Bundaberg warehouse and develop distribution processes; and
  • Ensuring all regulatory and security protocols are followed appropriately.

About You

In order to be successful in this fast-paced and results focused environment, you must have previous leadership experience within a warehousing or high volume distribution environment. You'll be able to effectively manage a variety of priorities and be willing to jump into any task at hand.

This pivotal position requires a superior communicator with a passion for, and commitment to, continuous improvement. It's important you understand the vital link between stock levels and the production plan, and be able to engage with the process of distribution direct from warehouse, to ensure your ability to meet stock level targets. Knowledge of relevant legal and safety requirements regarding load restraints and load balancing will also contribute to your success in this role.

Functioning as part of a collaborative leadership team, it's essential you be articulate and effective in promoting the Knauf Bundaberg values, culture, and most importantly, the goal of being the number one Knauf facility on the planet! Your strong people management skills and ability to lead by example will ensure you engage your highly driven team, and have them realise your vision.

Although not essential, strong knowledge of / experience with Excel, SAP, production planning and/or "lean" principles will be highly regarded.
