About the role

Knauf now has an exciting, full-time opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join their team in Matraville, NSW. This position encompasses HR functions across 4 manufacturing sites, 7+ distribution/retail warehouse sites and close to 300 employees across the country.

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Business Partner plays a critical role in contributing to and supporting the business strategic plan and initiatives through:

  • Being responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of human resources through planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resource policies, programs, and practices;
  • Day to day responsibility for all HR operational activities;
  • Providing guidance and direction to Knauf Managers and Executive Team in regards to compensation and benefits;
  • Overseeing training and development to enhance organisational capability;
  • Taking responsibility for preserving and enhancing employer - employee relations;
  • Developing recruitment and selection solutions to meet workforce demands; and
  • Monitoring compliance to Group policies and employment laws.

This position provides direct supervision to the HR Officer and Payroll Officer, and oversees the operational administration of payroll, in consultation with the CFO and HR Director. 

Who is Knauf looking for?

To be considered for this role you will hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related and considerable experience in a generalist HR position, with specific experience in overseeing payroll and the renewal of enterprise agreements. Any experience gained within a manufacturing/logistics/supply chain or similar environment, will be highly regarded.

You will be strategically minded, with a strong focus on people development, staff engagement and organisational development. As you will be managing a small team, you will also need to have an aptitude for leadership and be comfortable overseeing others in a motivational way, whilst still being able to delegate work effectively and efficiently.

Importantly, Knauf is looking for someone who takes a customer service approach to the human resource function. You will have a genuine desire to partner with internal stakeholders (hiring managers, executive management etc), in order to provide tailored advice and guidance that supports the strategic goals of the organisation whilst empowering people to perform to the best of their ability.
