About the Opportunity

Ambient Fire Protection is currently seeking multiple Fire Sprinkler Installation Apprentices to join their team on a full-time basis. Positions of increasing responsibility are open for entry level to fourth year Sprinkler Fitters.

In this role, you will work with a highly efficient team in various industrial and commercial settings throughout the greater Vancouver area. Your primary role will be to perform daily tasks as instructed which will include installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of sprinkler systems.

To qualify for this role you must be an entry level to fourth year Fire Sprinkler Installation Apprentice. You will also be required to have access to reliable transportation with a valid drivers license and have safety wear as required by the WCB.

Our ideal candidates will have a good mechanical aptitude and, in the case of apprentices, will have some knowledge of power tools. Candidates that are enthusiastic team players, with a great work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn will excel in this role.

Finally, candidates will be at an advantage if they have any of the following assets:

  • Experience in steel piping installation in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Training and certification in Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, or Fall Arrest Training.
  • Pre-apprenticeship training such as the ELTT Program or an equivalent.
  • Certification in OFA Level 1, WHIMIS, Forklift training, or any other certification relevant to the NFPA 13 for the installation of fire protection sprinkler systems.
