About the Opportunity

Hyden Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fitter to join the team as a Workshop Supervisor on a full-time basis in Emerald, QLD.

While initially, this position will involve hands-on hydraulic fitting work, their goal is to continue to grow the workshop team to be able to handle the demands generated by the new Hyden business and shift this role to handle all workshop management tasks.

As this is a newly formed branch, you will be directly involved in all facets of workshop services and customer support, and take responsibility for key decision making across all areas associated within the workshop services.

More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Completing workshop jobs within KPIs and to the highest standard;
  • Maintaining meticulous records, ensuring workshop job sheets and service documentation is best in class;
  • Providing feedback on company products and providing upgrade proposals to management;
  • Ensuring workshop customers experience support that exceeds their expectations; and
  • Providing hands-on training for all Technicians and ensuring individual team members' growth plans are met.

About You

Hyden Engineering is seeking candidates with direct experience in hydraulic repairs, exceptional communication skills and a strong passion for training.

This position is well suited to an experienced Manager or Supervisor who still enjoys being involved in hands-on fitting work or alternatively, someone with significant fitting experience who is looking to step up into management.

Due to the customer-focused nature of this technical position, it's important you possess an ability to troubleshoot hydraulic/mechanical problems and formulate solutions for customers. You will have exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to learn systems and processes quickly.

Please Note: A mechanical trade certificate and current Driver's License is a prerequisite of this position. 

While not essential, any additional qualifications in engineering/management will be held in high regard.
