Bestech Australia manufacture and supply industrial sensors, signal conditioners, data acquisition and testing systems from world-leading organisations for test and measurement applications in R&D, defence, process automation and monitoring, manufacturing, water and other industries.

In 2012, Bestech introduced engineering and technical teaching equipment to their product range with the acquisition of UTTS. Their teaching equipment is suitable for teaching students in the areas of electro-technology, automotive, hydraulic/pneumatic, refrigeration, manufacturing and avionics, as well as engineering subjects at University level. With a wide range of products available, Bestech is proud to support the training programs of Australian industry, particularly within TAFE, RTO and Universities, as well as within the Defence and Military industries.

Bestech Australia now has three offices across Australia in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with fourth office planned for Perth in the near future. 

About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth, Bestech now has two opportunities for experienced Engineers or trade qualified individuals to join their team as Technical Sales Representatives. These are full-time positions predominantly servicing the Sydney metropolitan area, with occasional scope further afield in NSW. One position will be focused on the sale of Bestech sensors and the other will be focused on the sale of Bestech technical training and teaching equipment.

Reporting to the NSW State Manager, this autonomous role will see you responsible for driving sales by developing relationships and networks with relevant industry stakeholders, ultimately leading to new business opportunities and the growth of existing accounts in NSW.

More specifically, your duties will include (but may not be limited to):

  • Managing leads, quotations and customers sales enquiries;
  • Carrying out consultative sales and promotion of the Bestech product range;
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of Bestech's current and emerging product range;
  • Achieving assigned sales targets;
  • Providing after-sales customer service to ensure continued customer satisfaction;
  • Working with the Marketing Team to drive sales, including coordinating promotional and marketing campaigns for your territory; and
  • Executing sales administration duties, including territory sales planning, preparation of monthly reports, and preparation of tender documentation as required.

About You

To be considered for one of these positions you must either hold an engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical) or hold trade qualifications in a relevant field. 

If you have worked in an external sales or business development capacity previously, great! However this is not mandatory providing you are an energetic and motivated self-starter who is able to achieve targets within an autonomous sales environment. Well developed negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills will also aid you in successfully liaising with key decision makers, in order to close deals with a high conversion rate.

Importantly, you will maintain a focus on customer service and account management day to day, in order to keep your large portfolio of existing clients happy. 

These roles would be well-suited either to someone who already has a proven background in technical sales and is looking to take the next step in their sales career, or someone with an engineering/trades background looking to bring their existing technical skill-set into an exciting new career direction. 

Please note: A current, open Driver's License is a mandatory requirement for this position.
