About the Role
JMA Engineering now has a fantastic, full-time opportunity for an Engineering Design and Drafting Manager to join their Stainless Steel Division based in Berri, SA.
In this role, your main responsibility will be to review specifications and schedules prepared by the General Manager - Operations, and produce designs for clients based on these specifications and timeframes. You will work closely with the Sales, Operations and Fabrication teams and provide direct supervision for one Draftsperson.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Documenting services designs;
- Liaising with multiple stakeholders;
- Creating detailed and creative designs to Australian standards;
- Providing workshop drawings to the workshops;
- Working with the sales team by providing information and ideas;
- Working collaboratively with the design team; and
- Site inspections as required.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-career Engineer or more experienced Draftsperson looking for an opportunity to step-up into a leadership position. You will have the ability to fast-track your career at a pace that may not be achievable in a larger, inner-city organisation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Structural Engineering with demonstrated experience in drafting and engineering design and advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks. JMA will also consider qualified Drafters, providing they have more experience, particularly in relation to structural failings.
You will have an understanding of the sales and build schedule, with the ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications and ensure they are designed efficiently and within set timeframes, for customer sign-off.
