About the Opportunity

Liverpool Plains Shire Council is now seeking a full-time HR Business Partner to join their team in Quirindi, NSW.

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this varied position will see you responsible for working in partnership with the organisation to deliver high quality Human Resources support that leads to sound organisational outcomes.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Delivering professional HR and IR operational guidance and advice, and acting as the first point of contact for general HR queries;
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing Council's policies and procedures, ensuring they meet legislative, best practice and organisational requirements;
  • Partnering with Hiring Managers throughout the recruitment process, including co-ordinating Induction Program and other Learning and Development supports as required;
  • Maintaining the HR databases and system, providing statistical reports when required; and
  • Undertaking special projects in the area of HR Management from time to time.

About You

This role may be well suited to an HR professional looking to take the next step up from an HR Advisor/Officer position, or an HR Business Partner/Manager who's simply looking for a new challenge to sink their teeth into!

The successful candidate will hold a Cert IV in Human Resources, or possess demonstrated equivalent experience within the HR function. An excellent communicator, you will have well developed interpersonal and influential skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of stakeholders.

Due to the nature of the role, it's important you have some experience in the negotiation, facilitation and resolution of complex and/or sensitive issues. Contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated generalist HR experience is essential, including the provision of solutions focused advice. Although not essential, previous local government experience will be highly regarded.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to calmly manage a number of competing priorities will be critical to your success.

Most importantly, Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and passion for constructive change.

Please Note: A current Driver's Licence is a requirement of this role.
