About the Opportunity

Vertimax now has an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to join their head office team based in Tullamarine, servicing clients in the Melbourne CBD and greater metropolitan areas. This is a Monday to Friday role, however Vertimax operate 24/7, therefore you will be required to take the occasional after hours call, as needed.

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, this role will see you responsible for the coordination of planned preventative maintenance and repairs for predominantly commercial high-rise properties and/or hard to access areas.  You will have approximately 7-10 direct reports, made up of trade technicians, electricians and mechanics, as well as overseeing sub-contractors as required.

More specifically, your day-to-day activities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Scheduling works for all trade staff, ensuring jobs are delivered on time and on budget;
  • Ordering and purchasing materials;
  • Preparing SWMS and Customer Access Permits;
  • Closing out jobs ready for invoicing;
  • Ensuring OHS&E and Quality Control procedures are met;
  • Managing after hour call outs with on call electricians; and
  • Estimating / Quoting as required. 

About You

To be considered for this position, you must have demonstrated experience in a similar role, including the planning, scheduling and meeting of deadlines on industrial or commercial projects. Electrical trade qualifications will be highly regarded, however are not mandatory.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be a must as you mentor and provide guidance to trade members, sub-contractors and the rest of the service team. You will need to be patient, highly organised, with good time management skills and the ability to juggle a seemingly relentless volume of high-priority tasks and schedules at any given time. 

This role would be well suited to someone who has a genuine interest in developing long-term relationships with clients and a willingness to assist in the sustainable growth of the business.
