About the Opportunity

Enviro-Tech is looking to add more Journeyman and Apprentice HVAC & Refrigeration Technicians to join their team, based out of Burnaby, BC. 

You will be responsible for providing service to various clients throughout the Lower Mainland. 

As a Journeyman your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing professional service with a focus on customer experience
  • Servicing and diagnosing HVAC and refrigeration issues in all commercial applications
  • Installation of HVAC Equipment (considered an asset)
  • Ordering and installing necessary parts and materials as needed
  • Commercial refrigeration service and maintenance
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of environmental and safety regulations
  • Supporting the junior techs with troubleshooting and training
  • Attaining your Refrigeration Electrical Endorsement
  • Lead by example as you are being looked up to by the Apprentices
  • Proficient use of time and accountability when it comes to service estimates

As an Apprentice your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • An enthusiastic approach to learning
  • Accuracy in filling out reports (SO's and Estimates) and providing notes where necessary. 
  • Filling our service report cards on site
  • Tagging equipment and recording model and serial numbers
  • Safe handling of refrigerant and filling out refrigerant logs
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools
  • Supporting Journeyman on service and construction jobs
  • Basic HVAC/R Maintenance
  • Basic refrigeration pipping practices
  • Basic hardware (ex: hinges and door closers, door gaskets)
  • Reclaiming gas
  • Pressure testing

Please note that the Apprentices' responsibilities and expectations will vary depending on your level. Continual training will be provided as necessary.

In order to qualify for the Journeyman role, you will need to provide your inter-provincial exam or equivalent. 

In order to qualify for the Apprentice role, you will need to be a registered ITA. Exemptions may be made for out of province workers with the appropriate and equivalent qualifications. 

The ideal candidates for both roles should also possess the following:

  • A valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Ability to lift upwards of 55lb 
  • ODS certification
