About the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) help protect the health and safety of the community by promoting high quality standards for nursing and midwifery accreditation. ANMAC also assess the skills of nurses and midwives who want to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category.

ANMAC has been contracted to provide executive and secretariat support to the Australasian Osteopathic Accreditation Council (AOAC).

ANMAC owns a subsidiary titled Health Education Services Australia (HESA) which provides consulting services to the health education sector.

About the Opportunity

ANMAC has an exciting, newly created opportunity for a Board & Committees Secretariat to join their team in Canberra, on a full-time basis.

Working within the office of the CEO, this role will be responsible for the delivery of high-level secretariat and administrative support to ANMAC, AOAC and HESA, each of which have their own Boards and Committees.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • The preparation of agendas, minute taking, drafting correspondence and board papers, organisation and scheduling of meetings, maintenance of diaries and records management
  • Managing core activities for AOAC along with providing support for the accreditation of osteopathic education programs and international applicants
  • Undertaking project and research work as required for ANMAC, AOAC and HESA including managing resources, planning and scheduling timelines, tracking deliverables and reporting on progress
  • Coordinating general correspondence, reports, process claims and invoices, maintain databases, spreadsheets, records and files
  • Researching and coordinating the preparation of complex and confidential documentation, briefing material and other information as required

About You

To be considered for this position you must hold tertiary qualifications in business administration or similar and have demonstrated experience providing high-level secretariat support at a Board/Committee level. Any experience gained specifically within a Not-For-Profit environment will be highly regarded.

You will have a thorough knowledge and experience of administrative practices, supporting boards and board committees, and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office, as well as database and records management programs. 

Importantly, ANMAC is looking for someone who is well-polished, highly professional and can demonstrate maturity and discretion whilst dealing with confidential documentation. Critical to your success will be strong time management and organisational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

In recognition for your commitment and hard work, you’ll be offered an attractive remuneration package of $88,000 plus super with a 3% increase on 1st July, taking your package to $91,000 + super. In addition, you will have access to generous leave entitlements, with 12 rostered days off per year and additional leave over the Christmas/New Year period.
