Northern Lakes Collaborative Services (NLCS) delivers supports and services to children, youth, and their families within our NLCS boundary inclusive of schools from Northland School Division, High Prairie School Division, Koinonia Christian School, Living Waters Catholic Regional Division, and First Nation Schools. 

The services we offer through the providers we work are Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Behaviour Management Consultations, Physiotherapy, Vision Consultations, and Deaf/Hard of Hearing Consultations.

About the Opportunity

Currently, High Prairie School Division No. 48 on behalf of Northern Lakes Collaborative Service (NLCS) is searching for an experienced Regional Manager in High Prairie, Alberta for an anticipated commencement of August 27, 2019.

The Regional Manager is a key leadership role within the Northern Lakes Collaborative Service RCSD and works under the direction of the Leadership (LT) and Executive Teams (ET). The primary responsibility of the regional manager is the implementation of key decisions and establishing and contributing to the achievement of program goals while also ensuring adherence to the RCSD regional requirements and governance model. 

Additionally, as Regional Manager you will promote the program's mission and vision through the building of positive relationships while working within an inter-disciplinary environment alongside education authorities, Alberta Children's Services, Community and Social Services, Alberta Health Services, and several First Nations within the region. 

More specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating leadership in modelling and working to achieve the goals of the governance teams.
  • Preparing strategic plans and annual reports as required by the regional and provincial office.
  • Preparing proposals and developing/facilitating projects required by the governance teams. 
  • Gathering and analyzing data on supports and services as identified by the LT/ET as well as by the province. 
  • Coordinating and hosting meetings, as determined by the governance teams, with dates/locations set annually. 
  • Providing supervision and/or coordination of the NLCS service providers. 
  • Ensuring children, youth, and families with low incidence needs have access to supports. 
  • Providing regular updates to the LT and ET in consultation with the designated banker. 

In order to qualify for this role, you must have a Degree in health, education, children's services, community and social services or a similar field along with previous management or leadership experience. 

Our ideal candidate will also possess the following:

  • Knowledge of strategic planning and project management principles.
  • Knowledge of services for children and youth including community resources. 
  • Experience and understanding of First Nations (asset)
  • Understanding of educational context (asset)
