About the Opportunity

Briere Production Group is seeking a Director of Operations to join their team in Burnaby, BC.

Reporting to the President, this position is responsible for overseeing and setting standards for the equipment preparation process through the company rental system, L&D (loss and damage), storage, maintenance, receiving and timely dispatch of all equipment.

In addition, this position oversees and sets standards for scheduling and managing warehouse staff, liaising with Account Reps to forecast equipment shortages and managing transportation, shipping and receiving logistics.

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Protecting Margins on products and finding ways to control costs with the management team and vendors.
  • Leading a team of Department Managers responsible for processing, servicing and ordering of jobs.
  • Ensuring customer service is a high priority; creating systems to prevent poor service.
  • Proactively pursuing problems and seeking to resolve them.
  • Ensuring reporting is accurate and all production targets & goals are met.
  • Overseeing the coordination and scheduling of work assignments to all staff.
  • Forecasting labour to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Hiring, training, coaching and scheduling warehouse personnel.
  • Documenting and delivering disciplinary actions to all reports.
  • Ensuring procedures are in place to forecast/resolve equipment shortages in Rental Point for Account Reps.
  • Overseeing arrangement equipment sub-rentals with Account Reps for shortages.
  • Ensuring procedures in place to maintain warehouse inventory, its whereabouts and conditions.
  • Establishing standards and procedures related to shipping & receiving.
  • Maintaining accurate vendor records, following Purchase Ordering Systems. 
  • Overseeing arrangement of equipment sub-rentals with Account Reps for shortages.

In order to qualify for this role, you will have 3-5 years of experience in operations/project management and a relevant post-secondary degree. Past experience in the entertainment industry is not required but is certainly an asset.

Please note that candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will still be considered.
