About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia now has an opportunity for a full-time Warehouse Operator / Customer Service Officer to join their team in Townsville, QLD.

Reporting to the Sales and Operations Manager, this is a diverse position responsible for coordinating the efficient and effective loading of local trucks, customer pickups, and deliveries, as well as performing customer service duties as required. 

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Picking and packing customer orders;
  • Liaising with customers and/or Truck Drivers on weights and any special loading requirements;
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly;
  • Ensuring all products loaded are correctly packed limiting any damage in transit;
  • Delivering and unloading customer orders by hand (heavy lifting may be required);
  • Assisting in stocktakes as required;
  • Generating quotations;
  • Answering customer enquiries regarding Knauf products, including face-to-face, email and over the phone;
  • Coordinating delivery schedules and logistics with the team in the warehouse;
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and stock levels of the retail offering in the warehouse; and
  • Ensuring all work is performed in a manner which demonstrates a commitment to Knauf values.

You will ensure all activities are undertaken in a safe and professional manner, and will maintain Knauf's commitment to providing its customers with a high standard of customer service and quality products.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have a background within the construction space (ideally with knowledge of the plasterboard industry).

Due to the customer service component of this role, strong communication skills are a must, as is competency in the use of computer programs. Ideally you will hold a Forklift License (LF), or be willing to obtain this.

Additionally, it is important you be a hard-working team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to promote health and safety practices among coworkers.
