About the Opportunity
The Shire of Wiluna now has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Officer to join their team in Wiluna, WA. This is a full-time role, offered on a 3-year contract basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Community Services (MCS), in this front of house role, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that visitors to the Canning-Gunbarrel Discovery Centre are provided with a highly satisfying, engaging and memorable experience. This will be achieved by:
- Providing a high level of customer service to tourists and visitors to the Centre;
- Providing advice based on knowledge of the local area;
- Supporting community events and activities;
- Assisting with the installation and decommission of displays;
- Basic cash receipting duties; and
- Assisting and supporting the MCS as required;

About You
To be considered, you will have demonstrated experience working in a customer-focused, front of house role, possibly from within retail, hospitality or tourism. If you love working with people and have a 'can-do' attitude this could be the opportunity for you. Suitable candidates will work well autonomously and in a team environment and have the ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
Although not essential, any experience in Indigenous art and culture or working in a remote area will be highly regarded.
A 'C' class driver's license, Police Clearance and Medical Clearance are all essential to being considered.

About Shire of Wiluna
The Shire of Wiluna is a district comprising 182,156 square kilometres of predominantly desert and pastoral country which is situated deep in the beautiful but rugged the Murchison goldfields subregion of the boom state of Western Australia. As one of the more isolated local governments in the State, the Shire faces unique challenges and opportunities.
The Shire administration is based in the township of Wiluna, which is situated on the Goldfields Highway about 833kms from Perth. There are regular public transport flights from Perth three days per week and a direct sealed road link to Kalgoorlie which is 533kms away.
