Established in 2004, DMK Engineering has grown to a dedicated team of 60 people, offering a quality, professional engineering service to their clients throughout the country. From their offices in South Australia they provide a range of project management, maintenance, customised fabrication, and on-site installation services for contracts of any value, from $2 to $2 million.
With a multidisciplinary team of experts from a variety of backgrounds, DMK provides services for any industry, and has recently completed works on several substations, a transmission tower, and tubing for various gas, water, and wine projects.

About the Opportunity
Due to ongoing growth, DMK now has an opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join their team in Mount Gambier, SA, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a senior position that will see you supervising the design, engineering, and project staff to ensure compliance with client, project, and legislative requirements. You will be directly responsible for approximately four project managers, with varying levels of experience, and will also be overseeing three estimators.
Your key duties will include:
- Guiding and maintaining project accuracy and quality, and identifying areas for improvement;
- Monitoring and assessing performance of engineering and project staff to ensure they are supported and performing at the level required;
- Interfacing with workshop staff to ensure seamless communication between teams;
- Monitoring project and design staff numbers and training requirements to keep in line with company growth and advancements within the industry;
- Conducting weekly meetings with project, operational and design staff to assist with management and communication on all active projects;
- Providing additional guidance to the company director and senior management on strategic planning for future growth;
- Performing regular project and budget management as required.
About You
To be considered for this position you will hold a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, or a similar degree in an engineering-related field. You will need to be an experienced project manager and leader, capable of bringing together multiple teams and ensuring everything is being delivered as required.
It is crucial that you have high-level communication skills, both verbal and written, and can effectively engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will need to be confident working collaboratively with other teams and staff members, but also autonomously, with high level of time management skills and the ability to manage the deadlines of multiple projects at once.
You will have the experience and awareness needed to ensure all works carried out are compliant with relevant codes and standards, and have a commitment to workplace health and safety.
A current 'C' class drivers license is required for this role. You will also need to be comfortable with a range of computer software, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD or other 3D detailing software.
