A Rewarding Career Opportunity

Sunrise Health Service now has a rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their dedicated, multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Educator. This is a full-time position based in Katherine, NT. 

Reporting to the Director of Primary Health Care, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate and coordinate opportunities for clinical staff to access and participate in professional development and clinical education, with the aim of maximising clinical performance. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively to ensure training needs are identified through inductions, orientations, and performance appraisals;
  • Coordinating skills audits and training for clinical staff as directed, including diagnostic, examination, and procedural skills;
  • Developing, planning, and presenting educational activities that progress practitioner competence in an Aboriginal Primary Health Care setting;
  • Supporting all registered clinicians to participate regularly in continuing professional development (CPD) that is relevant to their scope of practice in line with National Guidelines;
  • Participating in the Clinical Governance Coordination Group to advise on Best Practice systems and complete relevant tasks; and
  • Providing clinical support and mentorship for new RANs, AHPs, Allied Health Professionals, and identified clinicians as required.

The successful candidates must possess the following:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse;
  • Primary health care experience and advanced clinical skills;
  • Previous experience working within a remote area / with Aboriginal communities;
  • Understanding of, and culturally appropriate approach to, cross cultural issues;
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team; and
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change within a working environment.
