About the Organisation

Tomingley Gold Mine, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is located adjacent to the village of Tomingley approximately 50 kms south of Dubbo in Central NSW. The Company is proceeding with the development of underground operations – with decline development having commenced in January 2019. The underground operations will consist of multiple ore bodies and will utilise long hole open stoping mining using a combination of modified AVOCA and CRF backfill to produce around 500,000 tpa once steady state mining occurs. Ore production will commence around August/September 2019.

About the Opportunity

Tomingley Gold Mine is seeking a production-focused  Underground Mining Engineer to join the team in Dubbo, NSW.

Reporting to the Underground Manager, the successful candidate will play a key technical and production role with responsibility for short-term planning, production scheduling, ventilation and drill and blast design.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a tertiary qualified Mining Engineer who has completed their practical underground experience and is seeking a professional engineering role where they can have a real impact on operational performance.

In order to qualify for this role, you will have relevant experience and have completed enough underground time to have obtained a first class level of competency. The ideal candidate will be a practical, hands-on individual who is able to work effectively and collaborate with employees at all levels.

Project management skills and the capacity to inspire a team will be key, as will the demonstrated ability to influence others, set out structured work plans and meet project timelines and budgets, through the motivation and organisation of a high-performance team.

Strong verbal and written communication is essential as there will be occasions when you will be liaising with mining-related personnel. An understanding of mining efficiency, cost revenue and contract management will be held in high regard.

Please note that this is a residential role which will require the appointee to live and work in Dubbo. This situation provides the added benefit of being home each night to achieve the best possible work/life balance.
