Tidal Fluid Power is an Australian-owned business based in Brisbane, QLD. Operating for over 20 years, Tidal offers an alternative source of products to the big four multinational importers; supplying, repairing, manufacturing and maintaining high quality hydraulic components including motors, pumps, valves and spare parts. 

Although a small company, with eight current employees, they service all of Australia; this position will service a sector covering Bundaberg to Grafton and provide components across a broad range of industries such as transport, agriculture, mining and manufacturing.

About the Opportunity

Tidal Fluid Power has been experiencing continuous growth and is now looking for a knowledgable and self-motivated Sales Engineer - Hydraulics to join the team in Clontarf, QLD, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be working with clients on projects, figuring out the mechanical needs of their machines, and recommending products to meet their requirements.

This is a technical sales role, and you will need to maintain high levels of product knowledge so as to assist customers with decision making and problem solving.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by excellent service and supply times;
  • Providing high-level technical support to Tidal Fluid Power customers; 
  • Providing customer quotations and winning purchase orders from hydraulic repairers, resellers, and OEMs;
  • Consulting with the Managing Director and Marketing Manager to develop the sales plan; 
  • Completing regular scheduled reports on weekly activity and customer visits; and
  • Preparing a sales budget to be approved in conjunction with the Managing Director and Financial Controller;

About You

To be considered for this position you must have significant experience in the hydraulics industry with a background in a mechanical role, such as fitter, machinist, diesel mechanic or drill rig mechanic. Although not essential, any post-trade diplomas or degrees in Mechanical Engineering or similar would be highly regarded.

As this is a customer-focused role, Tidal needs someone who is friendly and personable, and able to talk to and relate with a variety of customers in the engineering industry.

You will have exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to learn Tidal Fluid Power products, systems and processes quickly and confidently.
