Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW (Northern Region) is a not-for-profit organisation that hosts government funded programs to foster regional economic development in the north eastern region of New South Wales.  

RFCSNSW-NR has experienced Rural Financial Counsellors based in Armidale, Casino, Glen Innes, Gunnedah, Inverell, Macksville, Moree, Narrabri, Scone, Tamworth, Taree and Tocal. This team of experienced specialists service the regions surrounding these locations.  They provide confidential, free and impartial rural financial counselling service to primary producers, fishers and small rural businesses experiencing financial difficulties.

About the Opportunity

Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW (Northern Region) now has an opportunity for a Business Services Officer (BSO) to join their team in Casino, NSW.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, this position is responsible for ensuring that RFCSNSW-NR has internal controls in place to adequately measure and manage the risks the organisation faces.

Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Preparing agendas and taking minutes for Risk, Evaluation and Finance, Audit committee, and Board meetings;
  • Assisting in the identification, evaluation and management of operational risks;
  • Maintaining staff and operational policies and procedures, including updating the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan documents;
  • Updating organisational registers, such as the Incident Breaches and Complaints registers; and
  • Assisting the Executive Officer with coordination of meetings, performing daily ad hoc tasks, and producing reports.

About You

The successful candidate will possess broad compliance and risk management experience, alongside the ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure. Strong report-writing skills and competency in the use of Microsoft applications and computer systems are also essential.

Additionally, RFCSNSW-NR are looking for someone with high level oral communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to effectively interact with diverse cultural groups.

Although not essential, relevant tertiary qualifications, industry accreditations, industry knowledge and/or experience within the NFP sector will be highly regarded.

Please Note: A current 'C' Class driver's license and willingness to undergo an Australian Police Check are requirements of this role.
