About the Opportunity
Knauf Australia currently has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Engineer to join their team in Matraville, NSW on a full-time basis.
As a Technical Services Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical engineering support and advice to internal and external stakeholders, as well as assisting with internal product innovation and development projects.
As a Knauf team member, some of your daily responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support for Knauf's range of lightweight construction products and systems;
- Assisting with the planning and development of new products and systems, to ensure compliance with all Building Codes and relevant Australian Standards;
- Working with the manufacturing team to identify product performance requirements and benchmarks;
- Developing and delivering technical services related training and literature;
- Adjudicating on product quality enquiries and proposing necessary rectification measures; and
- Building relationships with internal staff, franchise store staff, and other industry related personnel.
You will undergo robust product training and have extensive support in achieving the above.
Who is Knauf Looking For?
To be successful in this position you will hold a degree in a civil or structural engineering, material science, or architecture related discipline.
Previous experience is not necessary, however a background in building materials or the construction industry would be advantageous. What is important however, is your positive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine desire to expand upon your existing knowledge base.
Candidates will need to have a customer service focus, with the ability to understand technical issues and offer solutions where appropriate. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders of all levels will be key to your success.
The role will involve working with a number of different teams, and as such, strong teamwork skills are essential, as is the ability to plan, develop and complete projects within budget and time constraints. Although not required, CAD or computer programming experience will be highly regarded.

In addition to the above, you will be rewarded an attractive remuneration package circa $70,000 - $90,000 plus super.
