Garnduwa is an Indigenous corporation that facilitates the delivery of Sport and Recreation across regional and remote areas of Western Australia. The corporation acts as a forum for Aboriginal communities in the Regions to discuss, plan, coordinate and develop opportunities in the area of Sport and Recreation across the service area. Garnduwa aims to improve the opportunities and participation of Aboriginal people in purposeful recreational and sporting activities through research, strategy development and program/service implementation.
Over the past two decades, Garnduwa has developed from a one-man operation based in Broome to employing upwards of 28 staff with offices in each of the major centres within the Kimberley and Pilbara region. The organisation prides itself on the services offered to remote communities under the ‘Smarter than Smoking’ logo, promoting healthier lifestyles through participation in meaningful sport and recreation activities.

About the Opportunity
Due to the continued growth and diversification of their service offering, Garnduwa now has a newly created opportunity for a full-time Corporate Services Manager to join their dedicated team in Broome, WA.
Reporting to the CEO, this is an executive leadership position with overarching responsibility for the corporate services functions of the organisation, including finance, payroll, compliance and administration. A key focus of the position will be the management of program delivery that is compliant, within budget and meeting required contractual obligations.
Some of your more specific duties may include (but will not be limited to):
- Leading and promoting a strong internal service culture, ensuring a service delivery approach that is responsive to the operational and strategic needs of the organisation;
- Providing high-level strategic advice to the CEO in relation to corporate service and operational matters;
- Reviewing, developing and implementing organisational policies and procedures that ensure best practice;
- Ensuring compliance with all government, corporate and statutory responsibilities; and
- Developing and managing the organisational budget.

To be considered for this position you must have experience at a senior level within a corporate services function (ie financial management, contract management and/or risk management and compliance) and demonstrated experience in project management, in order to translate contract requirements into deliverables.
Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, accounting or similar and/or previous experience working specifically within an NFP or Indigenous organisation will be highly regarded, but are not mandatory providing you have the appropriate experience.
You must have exceptional interpersonal communication and negotiation skills including the ability to liaise effectively with funding bodies, government departments and other key stakeholders. Your management experience in ensuring effective service delivery, staff capacity building and creating and maintaining an effective and highly motivated team will be integral to your success.
Importantly, you will have a strong commercial acumen, with the ability to prepare and manage budgets across a number of different programs, as well as genuine desire to improve outcomes for Australia's Aboriginal communities.
Please note: It is a requirement that all Garnduwa employees undergo a National Police Clearance Check and Working with Children permit prior to commencement. A current 'C' Class Manual Driver's License is also required.
