About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth, RKF Engineering Services now has 2 x opportunities for experienced Structural Engineers to join their team. These are full-time roles based in Perth and Adelaide. The successful candidates will work from home when not on site, with the opportunity to establish a small satellite office as the business expands.

As part of the RKF Design Team, these roles will see you delivering unique, technical engineering solutions to a diverse range of clients across the mining, marine and/or transport sectors, with varying size and business focus. As well as conducting advanced method structural analysis, you will conduct site inspections, audits and physical testing of structures in varying conditions as well as working with clients in managing the maintenance and operation of their assets. This will include developing remediation designs for degrading structural components and elements.

On a day-to-day basis your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Undertaking detailed site condition audits and investigations into steel and concrete structures;
  • Preparing and analysing detailed company reports including structural investigations, concrete and steel condition audits and relevant repair strategies;
  • Managing the engagement and performance of external contractors and suppliers;
  • Expanding RKF ES’ presence through effective stakeholder management;
  • Managing ongoing critical projects with a key focus on safety and quality; and
  • Undertaking structural design including computer-based analysis of mining/marine/transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork.

About You

To be considered for one of the positions you will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering, with considerable experience in site management, concrete, construction, corrosion or design. You will have a solid understanding of and experience working on major construction projects, with at least a portion of your experience gained within either the mining or marine sectors.

Any experience using structural analysis software packages such as SpaceGass and Strand7 and/or working with yard machine tracks or shafts/tunnels, will be highly regarded.

You will be comfortable conducting site investigations, condition assessments and writing technical reports and be willing/able to travel for client meetings and site inspections as required.

As you will be working from a remote home office, the ability to work autonomously and manage your own schedule will be key to your success in this role. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak and write clearly and concisely, and have good attention to detail and pride in your work.

Please note: Only candidates currently residing in Australia with permanent working rights will be considered for this position.
