About Healthy Workplaces Ltd. & Tour de Office

Healthy Workplaces Ltd. is a registered charity providing workplace wellness products to organisations throughout Australia.

It is the driving force behind Tour de Office, Australia’s largest corporate cycling event.

Tour de Office was established in 2011 as a philanthropic event to not only raise money for charity, but to encourage desk-bound workers to get out of their chairs and onto a bike, all in the name of promoting a healthy workplace.

From humble beginnings, Tour de Office has grown from an in-house charity event to a corporate social responsibility platform that has been adopted by some of Australia’s largest organisations including Deloitte, McDonalds, Ernst & Young, Commonwealth Bank and Origin Energy.

Our board is made up of high calibre, successful professionals who are approachable, dedicated, and striving to reach big goals in the coming years.

We are entering a very exciting time in the growth of Healthy Workplaces Ltd. as we seek to develop new initiatives to advance the health of the Australian workforce and continue to grow the popular Tour de Office event.

The Opportunity

Healthy Workplaces Ltd. now has a rare opportunity for an Event Manager to join the team in Brisbane on a full-time basis.

This is a critical time in the development of our charity, as we are looking for a dedicated professional to build upon the existing infrastructure and take the organisation to the next phase. As the charity grows, so will the scope of your position.

Reporting to the Founding Board Member and acting as the face of the charity, this position is primarily responsible for all facets of event management and execution. You'll liaise with participating organisations, riders, charities, volunteers, sponsors and suppliers to ensure all components of the event run smoothly for stakeholders.

In addition, you'll be responsible for:

  • Creating and executing event communications, including EDMs and Social Media;
  • Reporting to the Foundation Board of Directors;
  • Forging positive working relationships with charities and sponsors;
  • Overseeing the development of event technology including the event platform;
  • Driving brand development and awareness of Healthy Workplaces (including new website);
  • Overseeing the budget and ensuring non profit compliance is met;
  • Overseeing the distribution of funds raised through the event;
  • Driving fundraising for our charity partners; and
  • Delivering goals within budget constraints.

About You

We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to help facilitate the growth of Tour de Office and Healthy Workplaces. A results oriented and commercially minded individual with a solutions-focused approach will excel in this role.

This position may be well suited to a variety of backgrounds, such as executive assistance, events, marketing/communications, or a role within the NFP space - the most important thing is your ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills, event execution experience, and high level stakeholder engagement capability.

As the face of the charity, it's key you be well presented and possess exceptional communication skills. You will be a confident decision maker who knows how to move things forward, have strong initiative, and be able to effectively carry out your work in an independent manner.

Qualifications in business, event management, communications, fundraising, or similar will be highly regarded, however are not essential for your success in this role.

The Benefits

This is a very exciting chance to build a long-term career with an agile NFP, working your way into a senior leadership role such as General Manager (we have big plans to make this event international and will need a GM to do so!).

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be offered an attractive remuneration of $77,000 plus salary sacrificing options.

Well supported by the inspirational and passionate Founding Board Member, you will be encouraged to execute your role in the way you see fit - you won't be micromanaged! You'll also have additional mentorship from an array of successful Board members.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in a management development program where you'll learn how to manage a P&L; forecast and budget; recruit and grow your team; lead, coach, and develop your team members; and execute strategic and business planning sessions.

Additionally, you'll attend quarterly leadership conferences with access to fantastic guest speakers, and will enjoy the opportunity to undertake both internal courses (we have a MiniMBA among other courses) as well as external/paid training and conferences. Not to mention, you'll have the chance to collaborate with some of the best and brightest professionals within Australian workplaces, significantly growing your network!

Most importantly, this position allows you to carry out meaningful work day in and day out. You'll make a direct positive difference to many Australian charities, while also helping to shift the way Australians work to a healthier style.

Attend our Information Event

We're keen to meet you face to face and have a coffee or a glass of wine with you in a relaxed, but professional, setting.

This position is based in the Scout Talent Group head office in Milton (the Group Managing Director is the Founder of Healthy Workplaces Ltd. and Tour de Office), so you'll get to meet all the wonderful people you'll be working beside day to day.

You can expect to connect with some of our leadership team, hear our thoughts on the future of work and the future of our charity, and learn more about this career opportunity. You’ll leave with a little gift including a print out of your McQuaig behavioural profile, and most importantly, a set face to face interview!
