Great Ocean Road Health (GORH) is a rural public health service with campuses at Lorne and Apollo Bay in South West Victoria. Formed in 2019 by the amalgamation of Lorne Community Hospital and Otway Health, they offer acute hospital beds, residential aged care beds, a renal dialysis unit (Lorne), 24 hour urgent care services, medical centres, community health care and in-home support services.
They are dedicated to delivering confidential, reliable and person-centred care to the community, adapting in response to changing health and social environments. Both campuses provide 20 aged care beds, 4 acute care beds and an urgent care unit.

About the Opportunity
GORH has a rewarding, newly-created opportunity for a hands-on Associate Nurse Manager (Aged Care) to join their growing team on a full-time basis, working at the Apollo Bay campus.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), you will primarily be responsible for leading the team of clinical nurses and carers with assessment, planning, and evaluation of the care of Aged Care residents.
Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Assisting the NUM in the effective and efficient management of the Clinical Division, acting as NUM in their absence;
- Working with a team of registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and PCAs to deliver and develop aged care services that meet or exceed patient's needs and goals;
- Collaboratively creating nursing practice plans and evaluating or modifying them using a range of assessment techniques;
- Developing the team’s approach to Montessori practice in Aged Care; and
- Assisting in the delivery of clinical care to acute inpatients and the Urgent Care Unit as required.
About You
To be considered for this position you must be a Registered Nurse with current NMBA Registration, plus postgraduate Aged Care and senior clinical nursing experience.
Although not essential, any experience in acute and/or emergency care will also be highly regarded.
You will be confident in engaging and inspiring your staff, leading by example wherever possible and behaving in an inclusive manner, sensitive to the individual needs of all patients and clients in all matters including but not limited to cultural, religious, sexual diversity and orientation.
GORH is looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about initiating constructive change and innovating existing systems, in addition to being committed to your own personal development and education. You will also have highly developed written and oral communication skills, and demonstrated problem solving skills.
