About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth in the aged care industry, Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Group now has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Governance Manager (Clinical Aged Care) to join their team in Bega, NSW, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for leading and developing governance standards and initiatives, in order to establish a unified best practice approach across SCCAC's range of services. You will be overseeing their service delivery methods and working with the training and quality teams to deliver high quality outcomes that align with industry standards and accreditations.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with managers to ensure the highest standard of service delivery and outcomes within budget, complying with relevant legislation and care standards;
  • Offering support and advice to managers and care managers regarding clinical care and people management;
  • Managing human resources to meet the service needs of the organisation;
  • Establishing and maintaining organisational policy and procedures; and
  • Supporting the ACFI teams to maximise claims to meet the service needs of the organisation.

About You

Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Group is looking for someone with demonstrated skills and passion in leading and developing a service delivery team. 

You will be an AHPRA qualified registered nurse with no conditions, and have significant experience and knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards. You will also be familiar with any changes in the aged care industry, including findings from the recent Royal Commission and contemporary best practice.

Thorough knowledge of ACFI planning assessment and validation processes, HR principles, quality improvement, accreditation and WHS legislation is essential for your success. Additionally, you'll have strong analytical skills, the ability to manage KPIs and meet strategic objectives, and be competent in the use of data and information management systems.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members on a daily basis. As a senior leader within the organisation, it's important you possess a high level of interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills.

Most importantly, you'll have a passion for delivering quality care through best practice and quality improvement, while maintaining an empathetic approach. 

Although not essential, a current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, and/or postgraduate qualifications in Management, Aged Care Management, Health Management or Gerontology, would be highly regarded.
