About the Opportunity

Summerland Credit Union now has an exciting opportunity for a lending focused Branch Manager to lead their Grafton, NSW team. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role with the expectation that you would be available for weekend commitments (ie sponsorship events in the community), as required.

Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the role of Branch Manager is an integral part of the sales structure within the credit union. You will be responsible for ensuring the growth and development of sales in the Grafton region, which will include maximising the sales potential of the team members through coaching and development in order to sell the credit union’s products and services to customers and non-customers. 

Servicing customers both in and out of the local area you will ensure they can cross between online, telephone and face-to-face channels with ease, with the ultimate objective of making Summerland their principal financial services provider.

Some of your specific duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Monitoring and developing sales skills in all Branch staff to ensure that the credit union goals are achieved, measured through growth in loans, membership and branch profitability;
  • Involvement with Summerland volunteer days and attendance at Credit Union functions that displays community commitment, a core value of the organisation;
  • Undertaking business development and promotional activities to raise the profile of the branch; and
  • Providing a valuable first impression of the credit union to customers and ensuring the products offered/used by customers meet their requirements.

About You

To be considered for this position, it is essential that you possess extensive knowledge of lending products, as well as needs-based selling and customer service skills. A background in banking/financial services will ensure you possess the required understanding of both personal and home loan lending, including financial services regulation and legislation requirements. 

As this is a key leadership position within the organisation, a motivating and engaging leadership style and the ability to create positive change and growth within the Branch activities will be key to your success in this role. You will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in a leadership role, although this doesn't necessarily have to have been gained in the banking industry. 

Importantly, Summerland is looking for someone whose personal values align with the organisation values of sustainability, community, ownership, respect and ethical banking practices. You will be results oriented and understand how to expertly balance the line between promotion of all services and offerings, and the customers' specific lending needs.

Please note: Access to a reliable car and a current, open Driver's License is a requirement of this position. Any travel-related costs will be reimbursed by the organisation.
