About the Opportunity
Qualimet has an exciting opportunity for a Consulting Engineering Services Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all staff involved in engineering consulting, welding procedure design, testing and inspection of projects. You will assist with the coordination of all aspects of various projects including hiring professionals, managing timelines, coordinating tasks and ensuring the project stays on time and budget.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the financial success of the engineering and technical team.
- Overseeing operations of a department or project.
- Training support staff to ensure all team members are meeting expectations.
- Managing project costs and ensuring the budget goals are met.
- Meeting with clients and understanding their needs.
- Assisting the sales team with developing, presenting proposals and winning sales opportunities.
- Managing key performance indicators (revenues, expenses, billable hours utilization etc.).
- Enforcing policies and processes to support project development.
- Reporting project status and updates.
In order to qualify, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering combined with several years of experience in a related role.
The successful candidate must also possess the following:
- A Professional Engineer designation with the APEGA.
- A CWB Level III welding supervisor certificate (preferred).
- Strong business and technology acumen.
- Strong strategic planning, organizational and time management abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Strong finance, accounting and budgeting skills.
- The ability to sell and market new ideas to clients and stakeholders.

You are an excellent listener who can intuitively discern important underlying issues to ensure that you provide solutions that perfectly fit the client’s needs.
