About the Organisation

Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW Central West Inc. also trading as Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW - Central Region (RFCSCR), is a not-for-profit organisation that hosts government-funded programs to foster regional economic development in the Central and Western regions of New South Wales.

RFCSCR has a team of experienced Rural Financial Counsellors servicing the strategic areas of Dubbo, Tottenham Forbes, Bourke, Broken Hill, Gilgandra, Coonamble, Walgett, Mudgee, Cobar, Warren and Nyngan being over 50% of New South Wales. The counsellors provide confidential, free and impartial financial assistance and counselling to primary producers, fishers and small rural businesses experiencing financial difficulties.

About the Opportunities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two individuals to join the RFCSCR team as Administrative Support Officers.

Roles available are for a part-time position in Bourke, and a part-time position in Dubbo. These roles are being offered on a contract basis to June 30th 2020 (following a probation period of 3 months) with any further extensions subject to funding.

As an Administrative Support Officer, you will be primarily responsible for providing support and assistance to Rural Financial Counsellors.

Under the direction of the CEO, some of your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Being the first line of contact with clients;
  • Providing information to clients on the assistance available;
  • Assisting with updating the Organisation's databases and records; and
  • Direct liaison with rural financial counsellors and RFCSCR Regional Office staff.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have had previous experience dealing with people, especially people suffering stress through hardship, alonside a strong range of computer skills across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook email.

RFCSCR is looking for individuals with high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse cultural groups.

A demonstrated ability to prepare detailed financial analyses for clients will also be required. An understanding of rural issues plus previous experience living and/or working in a rural area will be highly regarded.

The successful applicants will have a current, unrestricted Driver’s Licence along with the ability to attend field days and community events to assist with the endorsement and further development of the rural financial counselling network and the Service’s overall profile in the community.
