Adhering to the Eden Alternative Principles, St Carthage's is an Eden Alternative Registered Organisation with a key focus on reducing the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom, that account for the bulk of suffering in a human community.

At the core of St Carthage's Community Care services is the belief that each person has invaluable worth, is to be treated with respect and dignity as a person and that the close and continuous relationships with other people in the community provides the young and old alike with a pathway to a life worth living.  The work of the organisation endeavours to demonstrate the care and compassion we have for one another as we strive to live our lives in a meaningful way.
